Camp Coldwater

Refers to historical encampments at Coldwater Spring, an area located along the junction of the Mississippi and Minnesota Rivers in south Minneapolis, Minnesota. The area is sacred to Native Americans, including the Dakota people, who believe that the mouth of the Minnesota River is their place of creation, or B'dote. Later, the U.S. military camped here while building Fort Snelling. In recent years, it was a United States Bureau of Mines property and was transferred to the National Park Service in 2010.
