"Minnesota is a Dakota Place" Presentation by Bruce White & Katherine Beane

Tue, 2012-08-28 19:49 -- lindreta
Event Date(s):
Sep 22 2012 - 10:30am

The speakers will discuss the long connection of the Dakota people to Minnesota, which many Dakota view as the place of their creation. Lost in the many accounts of the tragic events of 1862 is the rich history and cultural heritage of the Dakota people in their homeland of Minnesota, which they named and where they left their mark for eons. Despite the exile of most Dakota people after 1862, the Dakota people continue to call Minnesota home today.  They will have books available to purchase.
